It is ok with me if you want to get into editing groups to help one another. Also, feel free to type it in Google Docs and change the language (go to File) to French so that it will show you proof reading suggestions. I HIGHLY recommend this! Microsoft Word will do this, too.

HOMEWORK: Translate the following sentences:
1. I don't have any dogs because my mother prefers cats.
Je n'ai pas de chiens  parce que ma mère préfère les chats. (Nouns (cats) can't be by themselves in French. You prefer the cats, not cats.)
2. Saturdays I play soccer with my aunt who is forty-two years old.
Le samedi je joue au foot avec ma tante qui a quarante-deux ans.
3. We're going to the restaurant now. I'm thirsty, Claire and Michelle are hungry, and you guys like French food.

Nous dînons au restaurant maintenant. (Nous allons . . . )
Nous dînons maintenant au restaurant.
Maintenant, nous dînons  au restaurant.
J'ai soif, Claire et Michelle ont faim, et vous aimez la nourriture française.
4. My uncle, who lives in Salem, is organizing a party for my birthday because my parents are traveling in France.
Mon oncle, qui habite à Salem, organize une boum pour mon anniversaire parce que mes parents voyagent en France.
5. He's not American, right? Yes! He is American! He travels to France often with his cousin who is French and they speak French a lot, but he is American.
Il n'est pas américain, n'est-ce pas? Si! Il est américain! Il voyage en France souvent avec son cousin qui est français et ils parlent français beaucoup, mais il est américan.
