aujourd'hui est le vingt novembre

Today you will divide into groups of 3-5 and write a skit using words and phrases from the book. Make it fun! We will finish writing them tomorrow and I will help you polish the French and practice. You will perform these skits Monday and Tuesday after Thanksgiving. Each skit must have a total of at least 40 words and may use any words or phrases from the lessons studied up to this point. Be sure that at least half of what you say is found in Unit 2. The idea behind this assignment is that it will help us review for the Unit 2 test, which will be given Friday, December 5th.
Use only words and phrases we have studied.

40 points
10 points--Show understanding of most of the French studied up to this point. Don't just focus on introductions or discussions of weather. Talking about the weather is boring in ANY language!
10 points--Write accurate French. Most of this will be phrases from the book, but you should consider creating your own sentences using bits and pieces of language that you've learned.
10 points--Show fluency of delivery. You will  need to practice!
5 points--creativity
5 points--dramatic presentation. Use props!

You may film your skit, but it is definitely NOT required.
NOTE: If you would like to use words that we have not studied up to this point, they must either be:

  • cognates. Words that are virtually the same in French and English (cognates) and are recognizable.  Préfère means prefer, for example. If you go to your dictionary and maybe a thesaurus you can often find a word that is a cognate.
  • Anything that I've taught  you that isn't in the book
  • You may have cue cards or subtitles (for video) for up to 10 words
