FRENCH CLUB FRIDAY
Go to room 101 in Howard Street at 2:30 and we will have elections for president and vice-president of the French club. We will also listen to music and look at some neat learning apps and sites.
Grade pages 23, 24 in cahier. Homework = pages 25-28 in the cahier
This is Halloween in French with English subtitles (Nightmare Before Christmas)
ASSIGNMENT:
Write a letter to someone (see page 10 to find a name)
1. Start by saying hello + name
2. Introduce yourself, tell them your name, where you're from and nationality.
3. Tell them how old you are and
4. Tell two things you like to do (page 74) "J'aime parler français avec (with) mon copain"
or "J'aime nager et j'aime danser." That kind of thing. You may choose other verbs.
5. Introduce at least three members of your family and tell where at least one of them is from
(a grandparent or some other person who lives somewhere else)
Do it like this: "J'ai un frère." (I have a brother).
6.Tell how old these four family members are and describe all of them. At a minimum you need to say "Il est un bon oncle"--things like that. For the most part, though, describe them using words from page 165. These words are cognates and very easy to learn ("amusante," "intelligent," etc.)
-Introduce your pet and describe it. You may use words from page 165 for this part, too.
Ask your penpal about him or herself. Ask questions about the same things you have said about you and your family. Write at least four sentences.
"Tu as un frère?" (Do you have a brother?)
"Quel âge a ton père?"
"Ta grand-mère aime nager?" Remember: J'aime, Tu aimes, il aime
End the letter by saying "au revoir" or "amitiés," if you want to get fancy
Submit Monday.
REMEMBER: YOU ALWAYS HAVE HOMEWORK
I did not assign homework for tonight, so I recommend that you review the words from
Quizlet--leçon 1
and Quizlet--leçon 2
Quizlet--leçon 3
By now you should also have learned
Classroom survival phrases--Quizlet
although we haven't covered "tu as un crayon à me prêter? (you have a pencil to loan me?)
or "J'ai besoin d'un partenaire" (I have need of a partner). Go through the deck tonight.
Others to consider and master at your own pace:
